When I arrived in Tanzania, one of the things I was most looking forward to was seeing the wildlife. I had no idea.
Two nights in a row, a rooster with sleep issues has crowed it's little beak off at 3 a.m. It has absolutely no idea how close it has been to a pot of hot water and some poultry seasoning.
There is also a doggie chorus that hangs out behind Erin's compound, which goes into full cry right around bedtime. They are very dedicated to their task of waking the dead with their howling. No ghosts were out last night, so I imagine there will be another round tonight. :(
It is funny how things are never quite what you expect when you dream them up. I was thinking about lions and giraffes and wildebeests, and instead I have listened to roosters and dogs! It is a good reminder that no matter where you are on the planet, people and their animals are very much the same.
